Address to Serve HUD:
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
451 7th Street S.W.,
Washington, DC 20410
Who to Serve:
Authorized agent to accept legal documents designated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Serving the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is common practice for us. We have multiple contacts and know where and when to serve HUD. Below we provided a link that describes the process of obtaining information when serving HUD.
The Office of Litigation handles issues against the department, and other duties which can be found at the link below.
No employee of the department may accept documents requesting information the department holds. The Secretary’s approval must be obtained first. As such, the Office of Litigation is responsible for handling litigation against the department. The Associate General Counsel for Litigation is the designated official in charge of receiving service of process on behalf of the Secretary and other Headquarters employees.
If it is a personal matter involving an employee of the Department of Agriculture, they must be personally served. Serving a subject personally at this location can be extremely difficult if the subject to be served is unwilling to receive. Security will stop us from entering and must know the reason for service. This, sadly, will notify the subject of our attempt to locate them and may cause them to hide or evade service altogether.
The link below is to a word document that explains the process of serving the Department of Housing and Development.
